What if I find an error in payroll after you have delivered it?

Call the office immediately at (804) 355-6674 or (800) 476-7511 and we’ll fix it quickly.

Our company is adding a new deduction, does it cost us extra to process our payroll?

There are no additional charges. However, please contact our office to discuss the type of deduction so we can make sure it is set-up correctly. You must also contact us if you use our OnLine product because we need to set-up the deduction.

What does PayTime do and what services do you offer?

PayTime is a full service payroll company. PayTime has served the needs of small businesses in the Richmond, Virginia area since 1993. We offer payroll processing, tax payments, return filing, and delivery all for one set price. Additional services such as W-2s or annual archives on Cd are available for additional charges. We also offer a full range of employee group benefits tailored to the needs of businesses as small as a sole proprietor or a company with over 100 employees. PayTime does not escrow for taxes, and we guarantee to calculate your employee tax liability correctly, or we pay any penalties due.

Do we have to pay overtime, and how do we determine who is eligible?

New laws and regulations go in to effect continuously, to get the most current information visit the Department of Labor’s website at www.dol.gov/esa/regs/compliance.

We are considering terminating and employee.  Are we required to provide his/her last paycheck on the last day of work?

There is no law that requires you to pay the employee his/her final paycheck on the last day.  However, most companies make it a policy to provide the final check on the employee’s last day.

Can I re-use a former employee’s swipe card for timekeeping of a new employee?

No, you must use a new card. You may contact us if you need additional cards.

Can I delay my tax payments?

Technically you can.  You must provide us written request to delay payment until there is notification to resume.  However, we strongly recommend against this practice due to future financial burdens on your company and possible penalties imposed by the IRS.

How do I start direct deposit?

Call our office for the necessary paperwork. Payroll will need to be submitted to PayTime three days before the pay date to meet the ACH requirements. Normally the payroll funds will be deposited by the second payroll cycle after we set-up your company for direct deposit.

My employee says a garnishment has been completed.  How do I stop funds from being removed from his/her check?

You cannot.  An official court order is mailed to the company to authorize termination of the garnishment.  This is usually mailed to the employee soon after the court order has been made.  Once you receive the official court order, please inform us and we will terminate the garnishment.
