By establishing a Flexible Benefits Plan generally an Employer can realize an increase in net revenue through decreased payroll taxes.

Participating employees realize an increase in disposable income, and may be able to reimburse themselves with pre-tax money.

Advantages to employees:

The portion of salary that an employee directs to the FSA plan is not taxed. The employee will save:
  • Federal Income taxState and local taxes (where applicable)
  • Social security tax (assuming the employee’s salary is below the maximum social security wage base.
